Postal Food Drive Recap-May 11, 2019

May 12, 2019

Whatever happened to all that food that was donated through the post office?

Shepherd’s Pantry was privileged to pick up almost 80,000 lbs. of food between the Glendora and the Covina post offices that afternoon! That food comes thanks to the U.S. Postal Service who conducts the Stamp Out Hunger campaign every year at this time. “It’s a perfect time of the year for these donations to come in” stated Craig Cerro, Executive Director. “Our fall food donations run low by this time and we are in desperate need for the variety and quantity that we receive each year from the Stamp Out Hunger campaign. Thanks to the hundreds of hours of help and countless hours of food sorting through the summer months- we can keep providing quality food for those in need and struggling with their personal lives. Some of those groups include;

Cub Scout Troop 423        Christ Community Church, West Covina

So Cal 49ers                     America’s Christian Credit Union

New Unto Others              Cal Thunder Fastpitch

Fair Valley School             Church of Latter Day Saints

American Heritage Girls    Cornerstone Church

Glenkirk Church

Thank you to all the volunteers who have helped make this a success!
